First: Specialized Institutional Structures:
Benha University established support units to protect the rights of different groups within the university campus, with the aim of organizing procedures and providing support.
Human Rights Unit:
This unit specializes in consolidating the values of citizenship and spreading the culture of human rights, democracy, and non-discrimination within the university campus and the surrounding community.
Combating Violence Against Women Unit:
This unit specializes in facing issues of gender-based violence and organizes awareness seminars on this topic.
Social Solidarity Unit:
This unit was established to support students financially and morally in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
Mustafa Sadiq Al-Rafi'i Center:
This center was established to support people with disabilities.
Psychological and Social Support Unit:
This unit was established to support students psychologically and socially.
Academic Advising Unit:
This unit was established to support students academically.
Gifted and Talented Students Care Unit:
This unit was established to support gifted students.
Leadership Development Center:
This center was established to build students' leadership skills.
University Center for Professional Development:
This center was established to develop the skills of students and graduates for the labor market.
Digital Egypt Innovation Center:
This center was established to develop students' skills in the field of entrepreneurship and freelance work in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications
Second: Target Groups' Rights Axis :
Issuing a personal accident insurance document for more than 100,000 students covering partial or total disability resulting from personal accidents that a student may experience anywhere. In the unfortunate event of death, the insurance document rate will be paid to the family.
Issuing a life insurance document for the guardians of more than 100,000 students, which covers the student's expenses throughout their years of study in the event of the guardian's death.
Health insurance was provided to more than 6,000 faculty members and 9,000 employees and workers.
Illiteracy was eradicated for 39,362 citizens through 27 training courses, according to the periodic reports of the Adult Education Authority.
195 medical convoys were organized in the most needy villages within and outside Qalyubia Governorate . 51,687 citizens benefited from these medical convoys and 1,043 pairs of eyeglasses were provided mostly for school students.
Over five years, the Student Solidarity Fund provided its services for 18,685 male and female students, whether by paying expenses or purchasing medical and assistive devices, with a total sum of approximately 13 million Egyptian pounds.
The Social Solidarity Unit paid the tuition fees for struggling students, in addition to providing in-kind and cash support to students with disabilities, with a sum reaching approximately 3 million Egyptian pounds
The University Hospital received more than 5 million citizens in its various departments and units.
Third: Women's Empowerment
Benha University is considered one of the leading universities in the field of women's empowerment, as the percentage of women holding academic and administrative leadership positions exceeds 49% of the total number of jobs. It also established specialized units to combat violence and provide psychological and social support for women, in addition to opening the Safe Women's Unit at the University Hospital to provide medical, legal, and psychological support to abused women. These units operate as follows;
1 ) Woman's Empowerment Unit :
This unit aims to eliminate all forms of discrimination and violence against women within the university.
It works to raise the comprehensive awareness of the dangers of violence through media and educational campaigns.
It strives to achieve the fifth
Sustainable development goal related to gender equality.
It provides a safe learning environment free from violence and discrimination.
2 ) Safe Woman's Unit :
It works in cooperation with the National Council for Women.
It provides medical, psychological, and legal services to abused women.
It aims to train doctors and support staff to deal with cases of violence against women.
It provides a hotline and a social media page to facilitate access to services.
3) Awareness Seminars :
The university organizes seminars such as: "The Role of the University in Psychological Empowerment of Women and the Prevention of Violence" in the faculties of the university
It focuses on psychological and social support for female students.
It encourages active participation and feminist leadership within the university community.
It emphasizes the role of the university in building genuine awareness of women's issues and providing a supportive environment.
Fourth: Spreading the Culture of Human Rights
The university has linked human rights and sustainable development through academic media .
Teaching a course on human rights and social issues:
Including human rights and social issues in the curricula for all students.
Research and Studies:
Numerous studies are based on the academic guidance and the strategic planning for students.
Distinguished Scientific Awards: The Benha University Human Rights Award is established as part of the university's incentive and appreciation awards.
Fifth: Awareness and Community Activities :
The strategy of the university is embodied in its active participation in the "Decent Life Initiative “ and "New Beginning for Building the Egyptian Citizen Initiative " and all the initiatives concerned with the health of citizens. The university has also given great attention to develop awareness and rights among young people through training courses, workshops, and educational seminars.
